Craving for Kimono Ken

23 comments:

I am currently making a list of places that I would love to dine to when I get home in time for the Christmas holidays. And one I am craving for right now is Kimono Ken, a Japanese restaurant located at the lower ground and food court of Shangri-La Plaza Mall at Ortigas.

I love Japan and one of the reasons is all about their food. The Japanese cuisine has many types of seafood and vegetables with fresh and rich ingredients that are well balanced and healthy. That is why Japan is also known to have the longest life expectancy of any country in the world.

Here's a Chicken Cheese Rolls and Kani Salad Maki. You can get a 6-pieces Chicken Cheese Rolls for Php160, it's a deep fried breaded boneless chicken rolled with melted cheese and vegetables. And Kani Salad Maki for Php150, a combination of rice, crabstick, mango and cucumber salad.

Of course, by default we have Crispy Shake Salad for Php200 and California Maki for Php125. We always get to order this set because it's really good in the tummy.

The food taste and serving is really impressive. The place is clean and the crew are very warm. For me, it's really worth the money and that is why I have it on my list. So that's it, you know where to find me. :)

Check out the other four Kimono Ken locations in Manila, and more details at http://www.kimonoken.com/ website.

*Note: The given prices was that of last year (2010).

My PGT Season 3 Grand Winner

20 comments:
This season of Pilipinas Got Talent has really made it difficult who to pick for the Grand Winner. Unlike the first two seasons, the overwhelming charisma of the soon to be grand winners have obviously been seen since their auditions. This two are no other than Jovit Baldivino and Marcelito Pomoy.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 have showed us a lot more talents like contemporary dance, shadow play, gymnastics and acrobatics, aside of course, from singing. I have already picked my Top 3 Grand Finalists which was coincidental with what the Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino have said, that they (judges) have been mandated by Freemantle, to make the season "not Pilipinas Got Singing Talent but to show that we have different forms of talent".

So, I'm gonna vote.

I will have to give the 3rd place to the Lucky Twins. I don't know if its just me but they dance really well. I mean, they kinda connect to the audience in every performance they have made. I am one with FMG when he said, "I have never seen a dance presentation as beautiful as yours". Good enough to be on the third place.

Now, we're down to the remaining two, for me, it's really a tight fight between Synergy and El Gamma Penumbra. Both groups have really amazed me on this grand showdown. The only finalist the judges made a STANDING OVATION is the Synergy whom I will also agree their performance is really jaw dropping that I could also give them a standing ovation. But also, El Gamma Penumbra made a very difficult art of shadow playing. Both are world class.

Though I have seen shadow plays like The Silhouettes of America’s Got Talent, I felt a bit lacking with Synergy when they finished their routines. I wanted more.

So, my vote for Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Grand Winner is still El Gamma Penumbra who gave the best performances from start to end.

What about yours?? Who is your Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Grand Winner? The pressure is up on us, guys. The results of this Grand Finals would be based on public votes. So, vote! vote! vote!

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Grand Winner Results

No comments:
After catching up Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Grand Finals via live streaming, the event that was held at Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo has been the top trending topic not only to the country, Philippines but worldwide.
Though I was only able to see a glimpse of the program, like, the part when the Synergy Dance Troupe were performing which is actually near the end. I have been handed down the results.

Of course, it's not the actual results of the talent show. But the results of the Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Grand Winner in Google Pilipinas.
Yep, that's me on page 1.. (heheh sumabit lang..)

They all did great for this season. We've seen a lot of talents from around the country. But there is only one who will emerge as the Grand Winner of this season's Pilipinas Got Talent and I have my own pick already.

Here are the lists of Grand Finalists for Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3

El Gamma Penumbra (Voters' Choice)
Lucky Twins (Judges' Choice)
Sandugo Band (Voters' Choice)
Muriel Lomadilla (Judges' Choice)
Bringas Brothers (Jefferson & Kurt Bringas) (Voters' Choice)
Synergy (Judges' Choice)
Loverkada Kids (Voters' Choice)
Twin Divas (Judges' Choice)
Maasinhon Trio (Voters' Choice)
Renagine Pepito (Judges' Choice)
Khalil Joseph Ramos (Voters' Choice)
Kiriko (Judges' Choice)

I have three finalists that struck me the most: El Gamma Penumbra who showcased the Philippines since their auditions. The charm of the Lucky Twins in their graceful dance. And the madness of Synergy Dance Troupe with their jaw dropping routines.

I will have to watch the whole episode first for tomorrow and let you know who is my Pilipinas Got Talent Grant Winner.

The voting starts now!!!

Hot Movies To Watch This November

4 comments:
This coming November is definitely overflowing with hotness on the big screen. Here are some of the movies I picked that would sizzle me for the month.

J. Edgar
Release Date: 11 November 2011
It's not just because it stars the hunky Titanic actor, Leonardo Di Caprio but also the even hotter director Clint Eastwood. Eastwood have been recognized for both his acting and directorial skills and to name a few great films under his belt are The Bridges of Madison County, The Departed, Million Dollar Baby. Watch the J. Edgar trailer here.

Immortals
Release Date: 11.11.11
Uhmmm, need I say more? Well, if you want more wallpapers, check them out on this facebook album.
I have always seen how glorious the Greeks are when it comes to mythology, now I just can't wait to see how they can immortalize the battle between the Titans and humanity led by Theseus (Henry Cavill).

Melancholia
Release Date: 11 November 2011
Another ambitious film to destroy the earth. Starring Kirsten Dunst who won Cannes Film Festival as Best Actress for her role of Justine. Opposite her is the True Blood hunky vampire Alexander Skarsgard who plays Michael, her husband.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
Release Date: 18 November 2011
And finally, here comes S-E-X. (Hahah) I mean, here comes the first part of the last novel in The Twilight Saga series, the Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. We've all been waiting for this happy ever after story for Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. And yeah of course, their honeymoon scene. :) Check their official website here.

My Week With Marilyn
Release Date: 18 November 2011
Michelle Williams is too hot to handle as she does the week for America's ultimate sex symbol and pop icon Marilyn Monroe.

Happy Feet Two
Release Date: 18 November 2011
Lastly and definitely not the least, is this cutie pie. One of the highest grossing animated film in the U.S. that comes in 3D is the 2nd sequel of Happy Feet starring Elijah Wood, Happy Feet Two.

How about you? What movies are you gonna catch up this November, tell me. :P

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 for Grand Finals

4 comments:
After watching the 5th semifinals of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 last weekend (October 8 & 9), I felt like the judges were eyeing for Renagine Pepito to be the next Pilipinas Got Talent Grand Winner.

Sure, this girl "has" it. She's just 11 years old from Cagayan De Oro City belting out Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing. But I think his audition piece (video attached) is much better than when I saw her on the semifinals doing the Michael Jackson's You are not Alone. And that's -- something. I mean, I was expecting more powerful choice of song. But she just gave a safe and good performance. So my vote is still gonna go with El Gamma Penumbra since their performances were consistently going up to my expectations and I think they really got more. But who knows, something might just turn out more exciting in the finals.

For this weekend, who among this finalists will take that last 2 slots to make it for the Grand Finals:

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Week 6 Semifinals
Techno Jazz Cheerdancers
Jett Barrun
Jane Ann Arnado
Flip Duo
Khalil Joseph Ramos
Kiriko Rap Group

Meanwhile, here are the waiting lists for Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Grand Finals.

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Week 5 Semifinals
Maasinhon Trio
Renagine Pepito

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Week 4 Semifinals
Loverkada Kids
Twin Divas

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Week 3 Semifinals
Bringas Brothers
Synergy

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Week 2 Semifinals
Sandugo Band
Muriel Lomadilla

Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 Week 1 Semifinals
El Gamma Penumbra
Lucky Twins

The Grand Finals is just near and soon another Grand Winner will be out to shine. So don't forget to watch Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 every weekends at 830PM.

7,107 Flavours: From Philippines To Singapore

10 comments:
7,107 Flavours is a Philippine restaurant that aims to bring about the best Filipino Food from all the 7,107 islands of the Philippines. How about that.

So where can you find this promising place? Nowhere but in Singapore. Yes, on the second floor of Marina Square, a shopping mall located in the beautiful Marina bay area, is where the Philippine cuisine brought to world consciousness as a mainstream of Cuisine of Choice.

Pinakbet SGD12.5

We start off from the northern Luzon island of the Philippines, Ilocos. Pinakbet is a popular Ilocano dish served with variety of vegetables and cooked with bagoong. Sometimes associated with dinengdeng but they really are different with each other. The one they served us (in the picture) is cooked with bagoong alamang, well, I know the taste of our pure bagoong we used to cooked our Pinakbet, and this one is really not it. Though, the taste is also impressive. This meal comes with Bagnet also but with a higher cost.

Bicol Express SGD18.5

Now we go southern tip of the Luzon island which is the Bicol Region. I have been to Bicol and I've also tried some of their best dishes in town like Bicol Express. Bicolano style of cooking is known for spicy hot chillies and coconut milk, and this is what made of the Bicol Express. And with this 7107 Flavours' version, it tasted like the same dish I have tried before. Yummy. Tasty. Spicy.

Crispy Pata SGD27

"Pampabata", as what they jokingly say in Tagalog which means, it's gonna make you younger. Yeah right, of course -- younger to die. (LOL) Anyways, it's not like you've always eaten this for the rest of your life, so stop worrying. Once in awhile, it's okay to devour to this devilish meal. Crispy Pata is a pig trotter or knuckles that is deep fried to bring out the crispness. Many restaurants in the Philippines served this as party fare.

Overall. The price is worth it. The food is just great. The ambiance is sooo good, I can almost feel the Philippines in the air and the Filipinos there are all warm. There is acoustic playing wherein customers can jam if they feel they wanna sing their heart out.

Surely, there's always a place for Filipinos in everywhere. Try 7107 Flavours and you'll see..

Pinoy Food To Celebrate

6 comments:
I celebrated my special day with my friends indulging to the delicious Filipino foods. I asked someone to cook for me some of my long missed favorites back in the Philippines. But I have to skip for Pinakbet, Bagnet and Dinengdeng for now.

Here are some equally and more familiar Pinoy foods to celebrate:
Adobo

Adobong Baboy

Adobo is the more popular known dish in Filipino cuisine. This Pinoy's Best is a pork stew with vinegar and soy sauce. You can have Adobo as chicken or mixed of pork & chicken and even seafood (squid) variations.

What's good with this Pinoy food is that it does not easily get spoiled, so it's also the favorite packaged meal for mountaineers and travellers.

Sinigang

Sinigang na bangus (Milkfish Sinigang)

Another famous Pinoy food that I really like is Sinigang. Tamarinds (sampalok), tomatoes, and onions makes this dish truly with such a distinctive taste. Sinigang can also be cooked with pork, shrimp, or beef and also chicken but in this case, it's sometimes called as Sinampalukang Manok

Tinola

Chicken soup with chayote

Tinola is a chicken soup with wedges of green papaya or chayote and moringa leaves (marungay or malunggay). We usually eat Tinola during dinner. Sinigang is best served during lunch while Adobo is all-time good in any meal of the day.

The Pinoy foods for the day was really superb because they have captured its authentic taste. (Pinoy na pinoy talaga) It's super yummy and we super missed it. Good thing, the place I am staying has a good chef and also we can order personal menu of Filipino cuisine.

iPhone 4S: Apple Without Steve Jobs

5 comments:
Apple finally broke the news of its launching of the new iPhone, iPhone 4S. As soon as it was known to the public, networking sites Facebook and Twitter was all trending about it. And they wanted more and expected a lot but the biggest question yet is, What happened to iPhone5? A lot was in dismay. Even the movement of stocks went to a slight decrease.
*Merged image

Well, I say it is still the most amazing iPhone yet, same as their tagline goes.

It is the very reason that iPhone 4S have yet introduced another technology, Siri, that can be used to send messages, set reminders, search for information and so much more possibilities via your voice. It's like you're talking with someone who knows everything what he's doing. How cool is that? Maybe Siri knows the answer.

Also, for faster launching of apps, navigation on the web, gaming and just about everything, iPhone 4S have doubled the performance and graphics by using the Dual-core A5 chip, same with the iPad's processor. Is it really fun for our sense of touch if it would be more quick and more responsive, a big YES. And talk about battery, it is more efficient too.

The camera is 8 megapixels and 1080p for HD video recording.Woot, aren't you full yet? Well, as a trying hard photographer, this is all I ever wanted. And it's all in this phone. Deym.

There's over 200 new features for the iOS 5 and I wouldn't enumerate all those things here right, you can start working with your fingers because it was designed for it. One more thing, you don't have to worry about your music, photos, documents and all your contents because it is now on iCloud and pushes in all your device over Wi-Fi.

So what's disappointing? I was thinking maybe the others who were not happy with the iPhone 4S, might have expected a thinner and bigger screen as for the look or even just because of the name iPhone 5 that should have been released.

Right after the day the iPhone 4S was introduced to the world with Tim Cook as the new chief executive, Steve Jobs, the father and founder of the most valued technology company Apple have left us with a remarkable life. The day the world shared their words with the letter "i". iMourn. iSad. iThankYou.

It was just a few months back when he went down as CEO and gave his position to Tim Cook. It's as if, he  just made sure everything is buttoned up to his family, his people and the world before he finally signed off like what he have shared in his speech in Stanford University

This guy has made amazing inventions in this world of digital technology.
His legacy will forever remain in each one of us and it's up on us to "stay hungry, stay foolish" for the rest of our lives.

Sir Jobs, Thank You!!!

RIP Steve Jobs: Visionary and Genius

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
